one offside mirror and one interior mirror....is the nearside mirror required by law if you have the other two?? (uk)

You need an interior and one (offside) door or wing mirror. If you have two door or wing mirrors - both need to be working.

In the UK,a vehicle "should" fail its MOT if all three mirrors are not operable or in a roadworthy condition.I say "should" because at some MOT testing stations they don't even bother to check.

Under the road traffic act and constructio of vehicles act, you need ,at present, one interior mirror and one exterior(drivers side).
legislation under, dare i say it, european law differs and will become law in 2010 for three mirrors to be fitted.
More if a heavy goods vehicle

In the UK, the legal requirement is to have all three mirrors.

MOT in UK is if it had one mirror on from new you only need one, but if it had two originally the usual case is you need two on.

the law states that you need the internal and drivers mirror
if you have the passenger mirror but it is broken take the hole thing off
(if its not there they can not fail it)

In the U.S., you only legally need the interior (rear-view) and the driver's side mirror.

just had the same prob, you can get away with having both side mirrors and no rear view. but no other combination.rearview must accompany any other mix a must not just one side
