I was just given a '96 Chevy Lumina. Everything works fine, but the tail lights do not work. Replaced the bulb and all the fuses (located in the passenger side fuse box) are also working. Is there another place a fuse might be, or what could the possible cause this and remedy this. Thank you for any help.

It's possible that you have a bad grounding point for the taillights. The lights should have a wire running to the car's body, probably accessible from inside the trunk. Grounding points get corrosion over time and lose connectivity, which sounds like what happened in your car. If you have a voltmeter, you can test to see if you are getting voltage to the taillight sockets. This will give you a big clue about what to look for next. You can get a cheap voltmeter from Radio Shack for $15 or so.

Relays. Is there anything else not working? there happens to be another fuse box actually that is located in the engine. I'm not sure exactly where on a Lumina it would be, but its located in the engine. take off the cover and inside you should have a number of relays. look in your car manual and there should be a listing of 2 fuse boxes. one is the one you checked, and the other should be the one in the engine. It will list what relays are where and what they are connected to. there should be one that the stop lamps are hooked up to, but usually its also hooked with the cars accessories. if that ones fine then you probably put the wrong bulbs in. Go back and look at the bulbs you replaced and check the number on the side of the bulb. USE ONLY THAT NUMBER. remember, even if the bulb looks the same, doesnt mean it is. make sure you have the right bulb type AND number. hope that helps.

Do all The other lights work? Running lights, brake lights? If not a fuse it could be a disconnected wire. Trace the wires by the wire, color code.

It could be a fuse, broken wire or maybe the turn signal/multi function switch is bad. You need a wiring diagram or a good auto technician.
