yes,,,i own a repair shop in Tennessee,,and i do a lot of the Saturn's,,you said it was hard to up shift,,it sounds like the clutch needs to be adjusted on it,,they will do this when they get a little out of adjustment,,,and it may also be getting worn out a little,,either way it can be adjusted to work smooth,,you need to also check ,,and make sure it has enough fluid in the clutch master cylinder,,if it gets low,,it will make it hard to shift,,sometimes you will hear a little roughness in it when you shift it,,you need to tale it,,and have it adjusted,,it only cost about 15 bucks to get this done,,and it will make it last a lot longer,,i charge 15 ,,at my shop,,I'm sure other shops charge more,,but if it done right ,,it may mess it up,,and ,make it go out ,,so take it to someone who knows what there doing,,good luck with this,,i hope this help,s.

I assume this is an automatic transmission.

Have you checked the transmission fluid? Be sure it is at the "full" mark. If you have never changed the transmission fluid, change it. If you still have shifting problems, you'll have to take the car to a dealer or transmission specialist.

need a little more info on what it is doing it sounds like you may need to change the fluid and filter if the filter gets clogged the car wont shift

Whatever you do, DO NOT go to AAMCO or any other chain-type repair store. I say store because they like to sell transmissions.

Find a local tranny shop certified by ATRA and talk to them.

Take it to a local AMMCO tranny dealer, they'll check it out for "FREE".
