my civic dx squeaks like a mother everytime i drive around..it's always squeaking.
when i go over some potholes and bumps you can imagine it 10x's more squeakier. the sound is driving me insane!

my friend asked me how i could stand all the squeaking, i told him i got used to it after awhile..but now i'm starting to go mad.

all this started to happen after i installed some skunk2 coilovers w/the little sleeve and tokico illuminas (whites).
(these struts can be adjusted 5 ways, but i only have them on '3' so they aren't that stiff or soft either way.)

the car is lowered by about 2.75 inches, low, but not that low..at least my headers aren't scraping the ground.

i tried spraying random parts underneath my car with wd-40 and lubed up some joints with some grease and as far as i can tell, the sound comes from all 4 sides and not just 1 area.
needless to say, the grease and the wd-40 did NOT work at all.

my friend tells me that it's my bushings

My car is front wheel drive and I thought it was a brake issue but when I took the wheel off, the hub seemed to have more wiggle than I thought it should have(I think it should have none). Had I realized this before going home I would have taken it somewhere to fix it. unfortunately I drove home (miles from NOWHERE). I am too far from anyone to have it towed. I have heard the wheel can seperate from the car in rare instances. Is this common for front wheel drive fords? Can I limp it the 70 miles to get a part and then the 85 miles to a shop to have it replaced? I am in a no option position I only have the one car and recently moved to the area so I know no one to drive me to pick up the part. what can I do to get this part fixed? Is it possible to remove the steering knuckle and hub assembly off the strut with something other than a brass, lead or shot filled hammer??

My car was in an accident and I haven't started it in awhile (1.5 months) because I lost my license and moved it into my grandmother's garage because my street has city parking. I bought the car in September, a 1995 ford escort and the battery was only 3 months old. So today I started it for the sake of starting it and no ignition sound, no nothing. Is my battery dead? What caused it to die? Wat else could be wrong with my vehicle? This is soo frustrating, because now I can't even take it to be repaired.

This is actually a 2 part question. I have a '96 Toyota 4Runner and I've changed the air filter, got an oil change, etc. But, the air conditioner has begun to run very loud. How can I fix this problem? In addition, how much does it normally cost to get my shocks checked? I can feel every bump, crack or crevice I drive over.

if you use a longer crank arm, does the piston hit the head? also, if its longer, that means the piston doesn't go down as far, right? so wouldn't this elimate any gain from going higher? do i have any idea what i am talking about?

I drive a '99 Saturn SL...I think I killed it. I put a quart of oil in it while it was running, cuz I thought it was empty (because I checked it while it was running). While I was doing so, the engine started to jerk a bit and then it died.
It still starts ok and drives, but it smokes VERY bad from the exhaust pipe and at first it wouldn't go any faster than 20 mph. My dad drove it and said it drove fine, but it would still start to smoke after driving it for about a minute.

Don't tell me about how stupid of a mistake that was, because I already know. I know now that its only the transmission fluid you check while its running. It was my first car and I was destined to kill it. Anyway, if you can help in any way (suggesting a good way to find a new car if I have to) then do so please :D

I know I asked this question earlier, but I guess I wasn't specific enough. After replacing the head gasket, the intake and exhaust gaskets, it won't start and we thought we had the timing and everything set right. (I have a book & it's not much help.) there are several marks on the cam & I don't know which one to line up. there's a diamond, a triangle, and an indentation. any advice?
