Are they the same? I hear Employment for Aircraft Mechanics is not good.
Do diesel mechanics get paid good? how much with 5 years experience in the military?

Does an AP Mech get paid more then a Diesel? That like asking if a 4star Chief get paid more then a Fry Cook. Yes AP is paid a good bit more.

That's not to say their is not lots of money in Diesel. But you are not going to make all that much until you own your own, well run, shop.

They better... actually I think you should check your facts a bit - AP (airframe and powerplant) mechanics are well paid and in need. The only problem is the hours can be a real pain in the a** - overnight is when most the heavy lifting is done.

I think if I had a choice between the two I'd go AP.

I am not sure which pays more but with many airlines experiencing financial difficulties, strikes and layoffs I would go for diesel, no question.

aircraft will pay more but demand i prob higher 4 diesel
