Just wondering whether or not it's harmful to your car to use 10W30 oil when the car requires 5W30? I went to have my oil changed and they didn't have 5W30, so they used 10W30.

The air runs just fine for awhile. It may not do this for 15 or 30 minutes. But once it starts, it does it at least every 5-10 minutes. The AC blows hard and is cold but it will switch from the regular vent in the dash to the floor vents then to the vent up by the windshield. It does this over and over in no exact pattern. Sometimes switching to the floor vent first and then next time to the windshield vent first. I will turn it on and off and flip the switch that makes it blow harder or softer. Sometimes this seems to have an effect and it will return to the dash vent. Other times it seems to have no effect at all. On the average, it takes it 45 seconds to complete the change until it is back to the dash vents. Does anyone know what is wrong and about how much it is to fix it? Thank you in advance.

my car was at the mechanic shop and a tow truck came to drop off a car and while he was backing up he slammed right into my car pushing in the whole drivers side. i have a 318Ti 2 door BMW coupe so they're pretty small and well you know a tow trucks width is big and steel at that so it did some pretty good damage. the tow truck guy is saying he will pay damages but hes giving me a hard time about sending it to the BMW collision center. i gave him a day to call me back and still no word just yet. so my question is who should accept responsibility. the tow truck driver or the mechanic shop. if the tow truck driver tries to keep avoiding to give me his insurance info can i go after the mechanic shop as a form of back up cause they were the ones that had possession of my car. They had a different tow truck come get the vehicle from my house and they had it on their lot for 2 days prior to the incident. Im stuck whats my next move?

My mom's CLK 320 has power seats... the passenger side features work using the console on the door. All of the driver's side console features work (headrest moves up and down; seat goes up and down, etc.) EXCEPT FOR MOVING THE SEAT. How can I fix it? Checked the manual...no help. Called the dealer...to just check is $102 and I don't have it. I have two days before she gets back in town. Any advice? Before, when you put the seat back and turned on the ignition, the seat returned to its memory position. Now it won't. I just hear clicking when I try. Please somebody ... help!!!

I'm in the Dayton/Cincinnati area. I just bought new tires and the guy told me I should have my tie rod replaced, that it was a bit loose. Ok, I know what a tie rod is, and that I will need to have an alignment done along with that.

But, I'm clueless about costs. This guy quoted me $145 including labor. Anyone out there than can tell me if this is a decent price to replacing the tie rod only. (The alignment will be free, I got a certificate for a free one when buying tires.) I have a 98 Chrysler Cirrus.

This is actually a boat engine, but I seem to have better luck with engine problems in the car/truck arena.

This is a 1988 carburated 460. When idling cold and cruising at 75% throttle, the engine runs perfectly.

When I cut the throttle back, the engine often dies. If it does stay running, it surges badly and dies within a minute. Restarting after this is difficult and the only way to keep it running is to apply a lot of throttle. As soon as I put it in gear, it dies unless I immediately give it a lot of throttle. Once going, it runs perfectly and has normal power.

I suspect that I have a leaking float and it is flooding, but I don't know how to check.

It seems that most get their cars serviced during the summer months, is this true? I thought that a car required maintenance any time of the year, yet people dont seem to do it much during the winter months,Whats the difference? I'm sure it gets a little financially rough on the mechanics and technicians during the winter months. Any thoughts?
