My mom's CLK 320 has power seats... the passenger side features work using the console on the door. All of the driver's side console features work (headrest moves up and down; seat goes up and down, etc.) EXCEPT FOR MOVING THE SEAT. How can I fix it? Checked the manual...no help. Called the dealer...to just check is $102 and I don't have it. I have two days before she gets back in town. Any advice? Before, when you put the seat back and turned on the ignition, the seat returned to its memory position. Now it won't. I just hear clicking when I try. Please somebody ... help!!!

Well, for starters, it sounds like you were using Mom's car without permission, otherwise you wouldn't be in panic mode right now...Correct? Hmmm....possibly a lesson in all this I think.

As far as the seat goes, it's one of 4 things:
1. Something is under the seat blocking it from moving.

2. Seat has somehow become disconnected from the motor and/or track, or has slipped from the track. Doubtful since you said it moves up/down ok, but possible.

3. Gear has stripped or broken that connects the seat motor to the track.

4. Bad control switch that moves the seat.

For your sake, I hope it's #1. Check under the seat to see if something has slid under the seat and is jammed into the track somehow. I suggest raising the seat first so you can see better. Use a flashlight to check it out. Don't pull or tug on wires.

If it's #3 or #4, these involve repairs by the dealer. More than just the $100 to check it out.

Good Luck. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the servo motor is fried. If you are mechanically inclined then try and take it apart. It will likely cost more than $102 to replace it if you mess it up. I'd say bite the bullet, be honest and tell your mom. You weren't doing anything improper but it it's not working properly now. You'll pay for it over time and that you're sorry. If you don't have $102 you probably don't belong in your mom's Mercedes. It is an expensive car and servicing it is expensive.
Good Luck with your mom!

Trade it in. Mercedes is notorious for overcharging for the most minor of repairs. Stop buying cars for the image and find one that is dependable.
