I'm not sure about rover but i know on a vauxhall if you disconnect the battery for a while then reconnect it, it resets the on board computer. As long as the fault is not still there.

dont ever take out the bulb it is what powers part of the computer

if you want to turn it off yourself buy a code reader about $100 or less thain turn it off most likely it will come back on read the codes and fix it or have it fixed is the best option

I have the exact same car - answer? Get it serviced, and if you have already, take it back to the garage and ask them some searching questions! Sorry, looking through the Haynes manual, and it's not in here? Good luck......

go to harlfords get service reset box for your car its bout 20 quid

Just buy the reset tool. They are cheap now
