Why do people think everything is on ebay?? get a life Back to the ? 4x4 dosent mater the trans is the same inside, its just the tail shaft is shorter. Any auto parts store ( where you need to go anyway to get a kit) will have manuals like chilton or others that can help. But if you dont have the tools and some experiance your in trouble. all manufacturers no matter what brand all use different "special" tools needed for rebuilding. and you must have a completly dry and clean space to do this, If you dont have the tools and all the knowlege, try some after market co. like Jasper they reman good engines and trannys at a good price . around $400 to 600 depending on the app.

What kind of transmission is it? Is this a 727 or a 904? If it's a 727, they are very basic and simple. When you get your manual, follow all directions and you won't have a problem. I truly don't know much about the 904. Can't give any advice on that. Hopefully it's a 727, they are the best...my guess is that if you are having to rebuild it, it's not a 727. Good luck.

Your local public library will have service manuals available for you to check out.
Two of the most popular brand manuals are Chilton's and Haynes.
The reference desk will be able to help you find the one specific to your particular vehicle.
Free to check out, and most libraries are free to become a member if you aren't one already.
