if you use a longer crank arm, does the piston hit the head? also, if its longer, that means the piston doesn't go down as far, right? so wouldn't this elimate any gain from going higher? do i have any idea what i am talking about?

by stroking an engine, you are not changing the length of the "arm" you are changing the throw of the crank. therefor, the "arm" and piston are the same. your piston is now moving further each way giving more compression. however depending on the engine you might need more block or head clearance for this to work without damage...

Stroker pistons have the wrist pins located higher in the piston the piston will not touch the head. The piston will travel farther down the cylinder. On some blocks the block must be machined to accept the stroker crankshaft but rarely. The alternative would be to use shorter connecting rods but this is avoided in performance engines because believe it or not it affects the airflow relative to cam timing near tdc. Most people don't get into things that much.

Sometimes, no, no, and I don't think so.

A longer throw crank makes the piston goes up higher and down lower. If there's clearance, it won't hit the head. More air going in and higher compression equals more power.

yes and know the peston could hit the head it the piston are is to long but if you take off the head you see the top of the piston it should be flushe with the block you can see how a stroke works if you turn your timeing belt with your hand but i don't reckamend it

You Get Higher Compression with it tighter distance with the head causes more pressure more pressure more thor back on the pistion
