I have a 2000 Kia Sephia and lately there is a high pitch noise that I can hear when I am driving. I wont even be touching the brakes and I can hear it. It seems to happen more when I turn towards the left, even slightly. When I first hit the brakes the noise happens also, but after the first few seconds of pushing down on the brake it goes away. The noise is really loud. I could hear it from inside when my husband gets home from work. He works like 40 miles away and I am scared the brakes are going to go out. I cant take the car in until tomorrow at the very earliest. Does it sound like just my brakes or more? Does anyone know how much it may cost? We just bought a house (we get the keys today actually) and we just spent our entire savings on our $41,000 down payment, so I am freaking out that it is going to cost me more than I can afford. People telling me to sell my car, but nobody want to buy it because of the engine problem I seem to have. Every time I start it up, it knocks, then shut off immediately. I have someone that offer me a cheap service plus an used 93 engine. My car is an Mercury Sable 95 3.8. Because of the features and stlye involve with it, some of my pals tell me to invest in the repairs for it, it worth it.Can someone help me to decide if I should or not?, I just bought the car, the seller says no refund! To fix it cost 300 for engine , 300 to put it in.

The crack in the front bumper is about 2 inches long and the fender is bent forward a bit at the base of the car, but it is not rubbing the tire and it doesn't move that much. My parents are freaking out and they want me to get both parts replaced...the estimate was about $1400 dollars. I'm a minor and I dont have that kind of money....do you think it would be safe to drive under those condition for a while?

OK, this probably sounds like a stupid question to the "car buffs" but I would like to know. :-D I recently got a car from my parents that has very little paint left on the hood (a lot of rust). Are there engine problems that can occur because of lack of paint on the hood (in other words, does paint offer any protection?) I'm in TX so the heat can be intense, so I wonder if it makes it easier for my engine to over-heat if there is little paint on the hood to reflect the heat or whatever.
