Is there any way to determine if the air bags will actually work and deploy without actually crashing the car... Testing them?

when you cycle the ignition key before starting ,all the idiot lights on the dash light up signifying that a self test is being done - if the lamps stay off when the car is running (there should be an airbag light) then that circuit should be ok. IS there a lamp in that socket. if so and it goes out then you are probably ok. Some GM cars were recalled a few years back to have airbags replaced if you have a gm car you might check with the dealer to see if a recall was done for that VIN #.

There are certain wires you can cross and BOOM, hey the airbags work... but don't be in the way or you will die and you will have to buy new air bags that you will need to test, and on and on.

It would be much safer to take your car to the dealer... they can test without deploying them.

I don't know but if they are deployed u have to change them because they can't be repacked to fit back. Maybe a local garage can check the airbag's electric system and tell you if it's operational.

No way to check-----normally there is a senser light on the dash. If the light is on then take it and have it serviced. If there is no light on showing a default then it is possibly ok. What makes you think that there is something wrong?

You could just wreck it, but you probably don't want to. Why don't you just ask the person you bought it from? I can't give you the best advice, I'm only 9!
