I live in TX and my brother in law has recently given me a vehicle. It's not insured nor is it inspected. Which needs to be done first? Registration or insurance? What kind of taxes am I looking at because it was given to me as a gift? Thanks in advance.

If a doctor was needed to come to the emergency room at once. If you had MD plates and did not obey stoplights, stop signs, or speed limits could you get a ticket and could your insurance penalize you. If possible list your source.

We're having to make arrangements to drive her to/from work and college. Yes, I could rent the car and let her drive it, but I would be responsible if something happened -right? Should the insurance Co. compensate us for gas money, etc?

My truck is probably totaled. I have no other car now, my question is how long will it take to collect so I can purchase another car? The accident was on a Saturday night.

I just got back to the mall with my mom. While we were their my brother's car, he has my mom's, got broken into. The question my dad has does it go on our insurance or his?
My opinion is: his, because we were not driving at the time and it was just sitting in a parking lot and it was his car that got broken into.
Any and all answers would be great!
Thanks

There are a few different things that happened...it was 2am (wasn't endangering cars by speeding) was following behind another car going faster than I was...and the cop pulled us not by radar but by looking at his spedometer. We both ended up with a 90 in a 60..yet I know the car in front of me was going at least 100. The cop shined a flashlight in my face..didn't even use his lights, smelled like smoke, had red eyes, was very rude yet I was saying yes sir, asked me why I was speeding and I said I thought this road was 70 it has been the whole way..and he said no where in NC is it 70..come to find out 15 mins later it went back to 70...Is there a way that I could call the D.A. & see if I could take driving school instead, or call for a continuance to hope the cop doesnt show up in court, or try saying what happened in court? Ive called lawyers but they just say they can get it reduced and I dont have to show up, but I'd rather show up & have a chance than it go on my insurance n-e way

Ok, they mis-spelled my name on my driver's license. It's not JUST this one either. They've been doing it the whole time. I just noticed it now. If I should call them or w/e to get a new one, would I have to pay for it?(I can't remember if i was supposed to okay all the information or anything)

Does it depend on which state you live in?

I am a adult, and I have had some problems attaining license. I live in maine and have completed hours required to obtain a license, however I had to get my permit re-enstated due to the fact it expired on the day of the test. I now have new permit and for the time being I need a "work" (drivers) license to get me to and from work. I was told about this license by a fellow employee. I am a full time chef at a restaraunt and I need this really soon cause being driven isn't working out.

I'm over 18 have completed hours required and am safe driver with clean record, any help will be appreciated.

My car insurance co. did a credit check on all it's customers. Now, your rates depend on whats on your report. I have been with my company for about 4 years now, no accidents, no tickets, no claims, no problems. They sent me a letter telling I won't be getting the best rates because my credit check wasn't up to their standards. Are all auto insurance co. doing this, now, or is it just mine, and should I tell them to take a hike and find another? I am with American Family.

My car was hit in rear-colision and the ins.comp. of the other person involved is offering to pay for the car instead to repair it. The money, however, is not enough to buy similar car in 300 miles from my place. They say that my car had an old dent, I say that the dent didn't bother me because the car run great and I was not going to sell it.

She had some swealing and some fluid on the knee and some soft tissue damage. She had mutiple doctor visits, an MRI, and over a month of rehab. She could hardly walk for about 2 weeks. The accident was 100% the other guys fault and luckily he had insurance. We never been in situation before. We do not have a lawer. Just looking for a little help in what we should expect for a settlement. Don't want to take one in the shorts!Thank You All in advance!!!!!!!
