I am going on vacation in Florida and am renting a car. I have auto collision coverage through my credit card company but want to know if my regular liability insurance covers me while driving a rental too or do I need special insurance?

Thank you jmayer5025 for your reply. I already have an attorney and after a year of the insurance company denying my claims, this attorney got a reconstructionist company to look at my case, because in Colorado you have to prove the liablitiy of the other person, especially when the cops don't give out a ticket. This company wrote a complimentary letter stating 100% of the liablitiy was this girl's. So now the insurance compnay wants us to put together a settlement amount to present them with & not file the lawsuit right now. We have a great chance to settle very soon, but I know I need to have money for a future surgery and ongoing therapy and medications probably for the rest of my life. My spine doc said for me to use therapy and anything else to help me cope with pain until I can't ake anymore & then surgery. This is because I am only 36 & in good shape, the advise me to try & cope as long as possible as there are new alternatives delveloping. I don't want to be fused.

I got rear-ended a couple of months ago. I finally decided to put the car in the shop and have arrangements to do so Monday. I also made arrangements to get a rental. Isn't there some law that says you have to be 25 to rent a car? I'm 24. Neither the insurance company nor the car rental people told me that age might be a problem. Am I in the clear? (just want to be sure)

Also, my car is an almost-new (and very beautiful if I do say so myself) Toyota Camry. The guy at the rental place told me I was getting a Chevy Aveo. Can I call his insurance and ask very politely for an upgrade to a larger automobile?

Thanks, you guys!

I was allegedly clocked at 41 with a laser and will admit that I could've been doing 35 (which is within legal guidelines) and I would swear on a stack of bibles that I wasn't doing more than that. Do I have an recourse apart from court action (which means I'll end up with higher fine/points) ?????

I'm getting a company car, want something nice but don't want to pay a fortune in tax, i'm having to part with my BMW 320d which I love, what is a good car to have that is not going to cripple me in tax bills? I want something which is a bit sporty and looks nice with features!

My wife had an accident where was her fault. She drove into side lane and collided with the other driver’s car. The other driver’s car was fine and no damage, no dent and no scratch. But my car had some scratch.

They both stopped and checked. Because everything was fine to the other driver’s car, so they didn’t call the police. The other driver just asked my wife’s number, wrote down plate number and then left away.

Now the other driver calls my wife to ask for details, like address and insurer’s details.

Q: Should I provide any detail to the other driver?
Q: What if I reject providing her my details?
Q: Can I ask the other driver for her insurance details as well for me to claim?

Thanks for answering my questions.

My dad told me i was only allowed to have one person in my car untill i turned 18. i've had my license since i was 16, i figured turnin 17 would mean i could have more passengers in my car(legally)
He's a cop, so you think he would know, but this doesn't sound familiar to me.
I need an answer~!

Happened as I was exiting an empty parking lot and a minivan was entering and turned into me, hitting my rear driver's side door. The guy admitted it was his fault and he would pay for the damages. I got his name, business card, driver's license #, and license plate. He then said it is my choice whether to report it and claim it through my insurance. I said we can resolve this without involving them. No cops were involved. I told him I will draft a brief letter (indicating that he will be willing to pay for the damages) and have him sign i tomorrow. He was ok with that, and we went off on our merry ways. He seemed genuine to me, but of course, that means nothing. So my questions are:

1 - did I do the enough in this situation?
2 - Should I report the accident to the Collision Reporting Centre?
3 - If I do report it, are they going to contact my insurance co.?
4 - Any other advice you can give me?

I've had my liscense for about 10 months now and hate my picture. Is there any way I can go back in and get it re-done? I was thinking I'd either:

A) Get it renewed - but I don't know if I can do that since I've only had it 10 months
B) Say I lost it, lol. - but I think they store pictures on the computer system, so I'm afraid they'd just issue me the same exact liscense with the same photo
C) Get a photo ID, but I'm not sure if they'll use the same photo as my liscense or I'd take a new one.

So has anybody retaken their photo here in California, and how'd you do it? THANKSS

Long story short, In an auto accident. Not at fault. I have hired an attorney. Today I found out that the handful of bills that the Third Party did pay was submitted to MY insurance company by the Third party to be reimbursed. And now, My insurance company is claiming that they paid these bills and put a lien on my settlement for the amount they paid. This doesn't make sense to me. I didn't submit any bills to my own insurance. I paid stuff out of pocket the first few trips to the doctor and since then every thing else has been sent to our health insurance. My Insurance company wasn't any help to us at all. I did all the leg work to get things done for repairs to my car. They haven't handled anything for me. I do NOT want to pay them a penny. I plan to talk to my attorney. I just wanted some sort of info ahead of time. Can they do this? And why would they reimburse the third party like that?
