Classic Cars are a special type of risk. If you purchased standard collision you'd only be covered for the car's ACV (actual cash value), which isn't nearly what you'd need should you wreck it and need things replaced. You can purchase classic car insurance thru a lot of major insurance co's, but you will need a proper estimate from a reliable body shop submitted to an insurer prior to approval. Your premiums will be greater with this special type of policy, but well worth it should the car be involved in a major accident.
---Once I took a claim for a guy with a mint 89 Corvette. He backed into a pole and I paid him 8 grand for it...one of the fiew times I have heard a grown man cry.

How "classic" is the car? If it is something like a '69 camaro or mustang or something, you shouldn't have trouble getting coverage. I'd look at GEICO ... they are highly affordable and are very service oriented. If it's something like a Ford Roadster from the 50's, you may have a harder time getting coverage that doesn't turn an annual cost as high as what you paid for the car in the first place. Collecter vehicles are not insured for daily use normally, they are usually insured for the low mileage that would be accrued in the limited driving conditions of car shows, where the vehicles are brought in on trailers. If you have a car that is street legal and configured for daily driving (no really expensive custom paint job or anything) you should be able to get coverage through most of the major carriers like GEICO, Alstate, State Farm, etc. I know several people who drive classic American muscle cars on a daily basis and they had no trouble getting insurance for them.

if its goin to be driven daily, thats about what you'll have to pay for....

classic insurance requires you to have limited mileage and a lot of times they want an appraisal done on it.
