Can I re-take my CA driver's license photo / picture?

Question

I've had my liscense for about 10 months now and hate my picture. Is there any way I can go back in and get it re-done? I was thinking I'd either:

A) Get it renewed - but I don't know if I can do that since I've only had it 10 months
B) Say I lost it, lol. - but I think they store pictures on the computer system, so I'm afraid they'd just issue me the same exact liscense with the same photo
C) Get a photo ID, but I'm not sure if they'll use the same photo as my liscense or I'd take a new one.

So has anybody retaken their photo here in California, and how'd you do it? THANKSS

i own a repair shop,and you can do this ,go in and tell them you lost your license,and tell them you want to re- do another picture,and i have seen it work here in Tennessee before,you might get away with it out in California,you,ll just have to try it,and if it works good for you,,good luck i hope this help,s

I know how you feel. Trust me! Um, I am pretty sure they retook my picture when I wanted a new license after I moved. Not totally sure because it's been a little while back...say 6 years ago. But, I wanted my address on my checks to match my DL.

You might want to just ask them. Tell them you don't like that picture. Hey, if you cut your hair or think you look totally different, lost a lot of weight or gained, etc, then they might not mind. They may be more likely to do this if you needed to get a new one, say lost the old one. Then, they may be less likely to protest about taking another picture. I mean, it's digital right? Seems like if you just paid for the new license it shouldn't be a problem. It's not like their having to invest the resources to actually develop the picture the old fashioned way.

I can't say for sure, though. I live in Indiana.

All drivers licence photos look like you are in a police line up. And who the heck ever looks at it! you just flash it past check out girls to get the check past. I have heard of vanity but you have taken it to a new level! And in a couple of years you can laugh at this picture. Another picture from the DMV camera might be worse.
