i went out today to buy a road map but apparently it's difficult to find old-fashion road maps in stores now. i went to costco and walmart and neither or those stores carried it.

i need maps for washington dc and 3 surrounding counties. i found this one online (link below) and was wondering if anyone knows if this is good mainly for local use. i haven't purchased a road map in over 10 years and i remember i had separate maps for individual cities/counties. it would be nice to have the entire US all in one map but how will this map work when i will be using it locally 90% of the time?

I just wonder what some people tell me, that by using premium gas, your car will get better gas mileage. I know that it is better for your engine to get premium gas, and in the long run it will be cheaper bc of filter replacements among others. But my point is: will it increase the gas mileage? I know it can increase power, and more power = more miles, ok., but in the long run, after a full tanks of gas, in my case 20 galons x 20 cents extra per gallon for using premium, then we are talking of $4 extra by using premium per tank (which is about one-and-a-half to two galons more of gas if I chose regular, (my truck about 20mpg with regular gas), I am talking of about a 35-40 miles of distance traveled that I lose if I use premium.

NOW, the question is:
If I get about 340 miles per tank, then we are talking of about 10% loss (difference in miles per tank), FINALLY the question is: WILL PREMIUM GAS INCREASE AT LEAST OR CLOSE TO 10% MORE MILES/GALON?

Please cite your sources. thx

Do you talk on the cell phone while driving? If you live in CA, what are you going to do this summer when it becomes illegal unless it is handsfree? Do you think that it should be illegal to talk on the cell phone while driving??

Like in Canada the speed limit is 100 km/h on single lane highways and 110 km/h on double. Or does it assume you're doing 100 km/h the whole way?

Every time I leave my apartment complex for more than 15 minutes, someone steals my parking spot, and it's so frustrating!! I live mainly at night because I work evening shift, so everyone is home asleep while I'm running around usually.
I've had to walk nearly a mile to park a few times, it really is a hindrance to my daily life, anyone have any suggestions?

Do I need a sticker? Do I get a pass (for a reduced fare)? I'm new to all of this and the Metro line is not very informative on it's website! Any information that you can give me regarding riding the Metro bus line in Los Angeles with a Disabled ID card would be appreciated beyond belief!

every day on the road you can see a phone stuck to someones ear and theyre just flapping their lips and not paying attention to the road.Ive been pushed over into other lanes cuz they dont look before they turn.they get the right of way and sit there cuz they dont see the light change so you pull out and so do they and you get the finger??? I swear people cant go any place without a phone. Are they that dumb that they have to have somebody tell them where to go and what foot to put out there first. They walk in front of cars, stop in the middle of the road, and while im working in a auto parts store waiting on them they have to stop what we r doing to answer the phone.when that happens id like to just let them talk and move on to the next customer and let them start over. And you got the guy thats working on his/her car and they got to call to see what kind of car they drive.cant you people think any more?Cells dont impress anybody it just shows the intelligence level of the person

Job is to fix computers on-site. I will be paid a flat rate (which I have agreed to and am happy with), but I've been asked to suggest a rate to be compensated per km. At first I was thinking 15 cents/km (24 cents/mile), but a friend of mine thinks this is too low. I expect I will likely drive about 50km (31 miles) per day, and all the driving will be done in my own vehicle.

Yesterday I drove over the mountail from Bergen to Oslo. A beautiful cenic drive that was made stressful occasionally.

The question is:
what makes a human being place his car with in 7 feet of another moving car that is moving beyond speed limit allready?
In traffic, specially on very icy roads, Ill pull over when I get a chance if I can see that another car wants to try his luck and drive faster.
My problem is that I get very stressed when someone cant stay a safe distance. I even go so far as to be insulted as if Im an idiot that cant drive and should just get out of the way!
Many times someone will put my life and others in danger just to see them turn off at the next road or drive. Sometimes Ill meet up with some one in the next town at a red light who blazed by some miles before....
I would like a responce from some of these asshole drivers and just get some ideas on how you can think?
