If you are in UK,and you bought it from a garage, then you do have rights. If the car is not fit for it's purpose they will need to see to it. If it had been bought privately, you have no rights.

It would entirely depend on why your not happy with it. If its mechanically ok then its yours and the trader if a proper one has no legal obligation to take it back. Just not liking the way it drives wouldn't be a good enough reason.
If there are faults with it then the trader must be given the opportunity to put these right before you can demand a refund.
There aren't any laws giving you a period of time to decide whether you like a car or not after purchase.

A lot depends on how you purchased the car, is it new? or 2nd hand? Is it from a dealer?(which i presume it is because of the trade in).
What does your paper work say is respect of you not liking the car?
Just because you are not happy with a car gives you no rights what so ever.
If there is a genuine fault you will most likely be offered a repair.

In UK law you have 14 days to return the car, depending on the paper work you have signed. If it is from a garage defiantly no problem, private depends on the person.
You can check with your local trading standards office at your local council office, they will be happy to help.

The garage has to be given the chance to rectify the problem, if you just don't like the car you can't take it back.

Lemon laws only work for continual issues. 3 day return rules are only about services in high-pressure situations. With new and used cars, the situation is "Buyer beware".
You'll want to amend your question to say your country and if it was used/new. Details help us determine if our answers will help. I'm in the USA and what I said above is standard policy.
