Im serious they need to get off the road. Does anyone have any stories to tell about their bad experiences with mini vans or do you drive a mini van and want to share to everyone how crazy people drive at 55 in a 45?

I have a lincoln navigator year 2003 with 59,600 mileage on it. This is a 8 cylinder suv.

I just bought this suv from a private seller and I only drive about 5 miles a day. I put $50 in the tank and it doesn't even last me a week. when I click the info button on my car it says that I am getting only 5.7 miles per gallon. In the manual it says that it supposed to give about 13 miles per gallon. Do you think I need a tune up? what can be the problem? what can I do?

I'm in Deerfield, Il at work and I'm wanting to drive down to St. Louis afterwards to get to Mardi Gras. Being new to the area, i'm wondering what kind of strategies I could use to avoid the rush hour I-294 south and I-55 south. I don't know if I will be able to get out of work before 3:30...but I'm curious whether the traffic will decrease by 6pm 6:30 and I can just stay late at work to sitting on the interstate.
Here's the route i'll take:

I might have a Dutch mindset but I find it infuriating to rush to a bus stop, then wait for twenty minutes because buses don't show - and then five minutes later sit in the middle of nowehere for a while too. Mancunian bus drivers seem keen to have their breaks en route no matter what time of day, regardless of whether people are in a hurry to get to work or to get home. I've never noticed this behavious in Scotland, Spain, The Netherlands or Germany. Perhaps bus stations are illogical places to have breaks..

Anyway, rant rant rant.. Anybody know why they do it though?

It's not the conventional horn, it's a type of high-pitched horn noise. I've only ever seen it being used to copy the wolf-whistle noise when they drive past a beautiful woman, or when they drive past each other!

I have a ford laser sport '91. It's 1500cc

When the car is warmed up I can travel at 60km whilst doing 1500revs. I usually stick to this speed when I'm on a backroad. Am i saving gas, would I be saving more gas if i went 100km?

Also I usually travel 80km-90km on the highway (slow I know) Will i be saving more gas?

Please give me some speed tips on saving gas.

Also; say I'm on an open road and I'm going 30km at 1500revs and put my foot down to hit 2500revs till i get to 60km then just stay at that speed or will I save more gas just letting it gradually pick up. Mainly because if it revs for longer at a slower speed I figure I'm waster gas

I get about 2550revs - 2600revs at 100km. It's just about the 2 1/2 rev mark.

I love to drive, but there are a few things that other driver's can do that really frustrates me because it doesn't make any sense why they do what they do.

1) Super slowly making a turn on a green light. That happened to me today and is why I am asking this question. There's nobody in front of them, nor is there anyone walking across the street. Don't they realize that there are cars behind them trying to make the light?

2) Tailgating. Is it really that important to get so close that you can read the other driver's expiration tag? Even if they are going too slow, tailgating won't make them go any faster. It just will make them go even slower if you pressure them enough. Some will even slam on their brakes -and guess who's at fault?

To me, the rule of thumb of being a good driver (besides obeying the laws of the road) is to make sure you do not mess up the momentum of other drivers. I hate when that happens to me. How about you?

I know you shouldn't sweat the small stuff BUT some of these things irk me to no end.

Cell phones while driving - people can be so rude and ignorant with their blatant use of these things. We watched a lady trying to back out of a parking spot while holding her cell phone between her shoulder and her ear. She kept switching it back and forth, pulling back in and then backing out, switching the phone from ear to ear and just about causing three accidents in the process. Did she even think to put the darn phone down and back out? No way.

In the winter people who are too lazy to brush off their car or even turn their rear defrosters on and then you follow in their mini blizzard wake.

People who come into your lane of traffic going around an obstruction (car, garbage truck, etc.) that is in their lane until waiting until there is no oncoming traffic.

People deliberately blocking a side street or exit esp when they see you sitting there trying to get out.

I live in Denver, CO. It seems that anywhere and everywhere you go you have some jacka** on your butt when you drive. So if you get some slow person in front of you then you get some other guy behind you and hes all up in your back seat, it feels like. If I were to hit my brakes they are so close they will hit me!

I've been told that current laws means that a GB car can't be done for speeding by a Foreign speed camera at the moment... Is this true?

If not, what sort of fine will I get from the French?

My friend and I are going on a road trip. It's going to be approx. a 750 mile drive. She has a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero. We're splitting the gas costs, so I was wondering what a rough estimate would be fore how much it will cost in gas to drive that far? Thanks!
