It depends on the miles per gallon you get when you drive. If you get 30 MPG, you'll need 40 gallons. At $2.60 per gallon, that's $104.

Depends on where and what type of vehicle you are driving.

First, find out how many miles per gallon your car does. (Mine does 35MPG).

So, I want to drive 1200 miles... divide that by 35 and you get 34 gallons necessary to drive that far. Ok, so you take 34 gallons times $2.75/gal here in Los Angeles and you get = $93.50.

It would cost me $93.50 to drive 1200 miles if I can maintain 35Miles Per Gallon (highway driving on flat terrain).

Thats how you do it :)

Well, if you come to Augusta, Maine, you will be paying $2.09 a gallon. Go on the www.mapquest.com site and see how many miles it would be for you to travel that distance. Then you could use the same equation for your destination.
