I had it tested at a local A/C repair shop (that my dad is friends with) But I don't think that they really looked at it... They told me that I needed a new compressor, and its around $900.00 to fix!!! Does this seem a little high to anybody else, I have had a compressor replace before (in different cars) and it has never cost me more that $500.00. I don't want to get ripped of because I am a young woman, and live in a small town (we only have the one A/C shop hear!)

What do you suggest I do???

Thanks in advance!!! ;)

My dad owns a wrecker service and has given me a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Pick up 5.2 L V8. The truck runs great, but the brake pedal mashes all the way to the floor. The truck has been sitting up for about 3 months now. There is brake fluid (full) but the gasket under the cap was torn. I have been told there may be air in the line and should bleed the lines. Is this a waste of time considering that the reservoir was full or should I try this before replacing the master cylinder or booster? What should I look for to make sure it's not the master cylinder versus the booster? Thanks for all who help!!

My Intrepid has been freaking out. It drives fine for awhile...and then out of nowhere, the radiator leaks, I lose all my water, and the engine overheats. I now keep three gallon jugs of water in my trunk for when the problem occurs (and it occurs with frequency).

It doesn't freak out with consistency...I may be able to drive it for a day or a week before it heats up again.

Also, perhaps on an unrelated note...I'm going through one or two bottles of power steering fluid per month. Any idea why?

I have this 3.3L Grand Caravan, and it came to me with a tick in the engine, and no oil pressure. The previous owner had taken the oil pan off to put a new gasket on, and after that, he said it didn't appear to be oiling itself. So, I took it apart, got down to the oil pump (timing chain off, all that stuff) and tried priming the pump with grease. I put it back together, and it still ticks and has no oil pressure. Anyone who has some experience; if you've ever had to prime the oil pump, could you give me some advice about how to do it properly? If that doesn't cure the problem, what I might look at next?

Many thanks in advance

I recently changed my clutch master cylinder in my 1993 Dodge Stealth R/T (non turbo). After I finished the installation and put everything back together I tried to start it up. It ran really rough and immediately stalled a couple times. After looking around I finally figured out that I forgot to attach the wiring harness to my Mass Air Flow sensor off the air filter. After reattaching the wiring harness my car started up fine and idled really good. However, after driving it for awhile it would immediatley stall when you put the clutch in or when you take the foot off the gas. This has been going on for over 60K now and I cant stop at a stop light without revving my engine. I have no idea what it could be... HELP

Dodge is offering pretty good incentives on the 2007 Dodge Dakota. The Quad-cab is a very reasonable price. Can anyone share their experience with these trucks? I've heard they have alot of room for their size. I'd really like a full-size pickup, but the Dakota is much more affordable. I currently have a 97 Ranger Extended Cab and want something bigger. It seems like the Dakota is a nice option vs the full-size pickups. Can anyone share their experience with these pickups? Would you get the V8 or is the V6 good enough for a 4WD Quad-cab?

We have a 98 DGC and recently it has been stalling on us. It has done this 3 times all when taking a right hand turn (coincidence?) Sometimes the car starts again but most of the time we have to leave it sit for hours before getting it to go again. The shop did not find any error codes. Any ideas? Fuel pump?
