i have a94 dakota that leaks oil down the bell housing in a steady stream

Check the valve cover

Down the belhousing, implies, it is coming from above it. I agree with 45Cal, Look at the back of the valve covers, Oil sending unit on the back of the block.

Also, make sure not leaking from where distributor goes in, or out the back of the intake manifold.

If you have an oil pressure guage, not a light, also check the oil pressure line between the sending unit on the engine and the firewall.

Wow..... rear main seal.... pain in the but to change..... a shop can do it for about...... 600 and up depending on how long it will take, it they can drop the oil pan and crank without pulling the engine it will be alot less....

it sounds like the rear main seal leaking on it,if that's the case it will have to be replaced,about 300 to do this one because you have to pull the transmission to get to it,good luck on it,

SOUNDS LIKE A REAR MAIN SEAL , IT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED
