you need to put some 3"-4"o.d. x18"-24" long tips on the end of the tailpipes, that will make it louder. (think of it as yelling, and then yelling thru a cheerleader megaphone, its louder isnt it?).

also it will take a few hundred miles for the muffler to carbon up, once it does that it will sound alot different as well.

did you add any tips to the end of the tail pipes??? if you didnt, you should, it will sound totally different and put a big smile on your face. my Gibson split rear on my '99 Ram was quiet til i installed the 4"x24" exhaust tips to the end of the tail pipes. think of it this way, try yelling, yeah its loud, no try yelling thru a cheerleaders megaphone, its louder isnt it? same applies with the exhaust tips. and the for the jokers who said cut off the catalytic convertor, yeah the only thing you are doing is polluting the enviroment and commiting a federal offense. your are not, REPEAT, you are not gaining anything in peformance. it has been dyno proven that you do not gain anything and often times loose power by doing so.

Best keep it with a nice rumble so you can sneak away from the girls houses> To much noise will get you tickets>Smaller mufflers to make more noise but the drone inside the truck will make it miserable to ride in>And if you don't have a cam & performance parts it will some just noisey>

changing the mufflers will make it louder, but it wont make it go any faster at all,and it will also draw attention to it,anytime a cop see,s you he,ll be watching you,if it was me id want one to be real quiet, good luck with it.
