It usually runs very well it only started to do this a few days ago. Whenever i start to slow to a stop or take my foot off of the gas it starts to bog down like it wants to die but as soon as i stop in full the idle picks back up to normal. I have no idea what it could be so anyone that can help please let me know.

just picked up a 1985 ram charger 4x4. 318 auto. royal se prospector. tried to back up a hill in 4 hi. had accelerator to the bourds and barely made it. then had to pull an extremely loaded truck/trailer outta the mud. had the charger in 4 hi again, just drive gear. would NOT break the tires loose, has 31 inch coopers on it. are all these trucks this gutless? or is there something that needs fixing?

I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500, The vehicle shakes as you apply the gas pedal. No matter what speed you are going as soon as you apply the gas it starts to shake. When you let off of the gas it returns to normal. All of the engine mounts appear to be fine. I was told it could possibly be the O2 sensor, but I am not sure. I was also told also to look at the fuel filter. I am not familiar with how to check for codes. What can I do?

I have a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500, and just the other day i was driving home and saw my RPM jump to about 3000 (was running at only about 1500 - 2000 before that). I didnt think anything of it. About a mile up the road it happened again, but this time i could not accelerate (like i was trying to drive in neutral) Occasionally the engine would connect with the transmission and i could drive a few feet before it would disconnect again. I just parked it out in a parking lot until i could get it going enough to make it home.

Now when i start the truck (while its cold) everything seems to run fine, but as soon as it gets a little warm there is a loud grinding noise (like the gears on a diesel engine) that comes from the transmission. Is it possible that this sound is actually coming from the torque converter (maybe the stator's clutch went out??) It also whines as i accelerate relative to the RPM

(fluid has been checked and is good and full).....

Thank you very much for your answers.

I have a neighbor that is trying to sell me a 77 charger that he bought new. This car originaly had electronic ignition but about 15 years ago he let some no not mechanic change it to the old ignition -point- system. The car hasn't run quite right since. It's slow to accelerate and lacks power. It's a 360 in. engine, automatic on the floor. My question is in two parts, first since the ignition was changed to the point system should the car have different plugs in it then it originally had? Secondly does anyone know what the old points and plugs were gapped at? He says he thinks the the system that is in it now is the system used in 1974.

Thank you for any help that you can offer.
