Dodge is offering pretty good incentives on the 2007 Dodge Dakota. The Quad-cab is a very reasonable price. Can anyone share their experience with these trucks? I've heard they have alot of room for their size. I'd really like a full-size pickup, but the Dakota is much more affordable. I currently have a 97 Ranger Extended Cab and want something bigger. It seems like the Dakota is a nice option vs the full-size pickups. Can anyone share their experience with these pickups? Would you get the V8 or is the V6 good enough for a 4WD Quad-cab?

Nice trucks. I would get the V8. It gets about the same mileage as the V6 but with a lot more power. Lots bigger than your Ranger too.

I have a 2007 Dakota Quad with the 4.7HO. It's quick and pulls a tandum axle trailer without a problem. My buddy has a V-6 in his and gets the same MPG as me and won't pull my trailer. I considered the Ram, but it is a BIG truck. The Dakota can do the same job as a 1500 Ram and still fits in my garage. If you like your Ford, you'll love the the Dakota.

Personally, I would pay the difference in price and get a
Ram, it will only be couple of grand more.
The Dakota is a fine truck, get a 4.7V8 so you can run ethanol.

dakotas are pretty good trucks the v6 is good enough if your not towing or hauling i personally would get the v8. i think the 4.7 is going to be as good as the 318 (5.2) or the 360(5.9) we have very little trouble with those engines.

yep, 3.7 v6 to 4.7v8 is one mpg difference. i almost bought an 06 duad cab....thanks to the ex my credit was rough enough to not like the apr!!! good trucks, not many problems at all. i wish i could have traded my 95 clubcab for the 06 quadcab...but oh well.
i still love my 95.

and my other 2 dodges too!

What ever you chose, I would get the V8. The 6 isn't that much better on gas mileage and you will have more power.
