Car Makes - November 2007

I bought a 1999 DODGE Ram 1500 4WD with a 3” lift, which had oversized tires on it. LT315/75/R16 on stock 16” Rims. The problem I have every time I turn, the wheel rubs on the inside frame and the wheel well, Intern tearing up the tires and the plastic wheel well. I like the meaty look and the height but I want to fix the problem. I want to put 18” rims on it and new tires. I know it’s got something to do with the offset and backspace of the rim and that’s what I do not understand. My question for you is what rim would you recommend and what size tire would you put on it or what backspace and offset I would need to fix the problem without loosing too much height? Or if I decided to keep my factory 16” what would you recamend?

its patched with a liquid metal for now but i would feel better with a new pan

I just purchased a 2002 Nissan Altima with 76K. I had the throttle body fixed besides that it only needs regular maintenance. How much longer do you think I can use it for? I drive approx. 10k a year or less. Also I have a 99 NIssan Altima with 98K No problems and is regurlarly maintained. How much on that one? Thank You =)

Well the mechanic put a 2nd pump in Tuesday after me telling him I tapped it and it started for me. so after doing this he wanted to keep it over last night and try fto start it again this morning guess what it DID NOT START just as it DID NOT START for me for many days except when I banged the gas tank
hE SAID IT IS NOT THE FUEL PUMP AND NOW THINKS IT IS THE IGNITION SWITCH
I also noted that the colder it is the mmore difficult it is to start too which brought me to the pump but dosen't seem to be the problem\ One other note is when I personally went to the mechanic and tried to start it with no start right with the mechanic he lifted the hood and un done a bolt and connected a guage --and asked me to start it and then it started so he took the guage off and told me the pressure was fine.
ANY MORE IDEAS FROM ANYONE

I need some new tires for my truck,a nd am looking at several different tires. I want something that looks pretty aggressive, but still will last on the road. I really dont wan tto spend over $150-170 on one tire, so what is cheap and looks good? I really dont get into mud alot, but i do some, so i do want something that will do decent in mud. Ive been looking at Cooper Discoverer ST and STT, Wild Country TXR's and Pro Comp All terrains. I am running the stock rims, so i am looking at 285's on the stock 16 inch rims. Ok so I know it is not really possessed but the lights come on for no reason and the locks lock and unlock by themselves, which causes the battery to die eventually. I know it has to be an electrical problem, but is there an easy way to fix it without having to take it to an electrical shop.

I purchased a used 1996 Sunfire, and it has an indicator light coming on recently. It is a red rectangle with a wavy line at the bottom and an arrow pointing down. It keeps flashing on and off. I took it to autozone, but it isn't staying on long enough to store a code in the computer for them to be able to tell me what is wrong with it. I think it might have to do with either the cooling system or the water pump. Anyone else know what it is?
