I took a pic of what I believe is the cable I have to disconnect. Please take a look at it and let me know if this is the right cable? Thanks a lot!

Yes, it is the right wire to disconnect to disable the horn. You can also remove the horn relay to disable the horn.
There is a fuse for horn circuit but it's also used for other circuit (stop light) so you don't want to remove the fuse.

I just wonder why you want to disable the horn.
Protege has horn pad on steering wheel problem when getting too old and lot of heat from parking outdoor. It may sound all the time or sound when park over cold night.

You have two choices:
1st choice (best choice): replace with a new pad (costly)
2nd choice: remove horn pad and use heat gun to reshape the pad.

I bet you are having the infamous horn going off 2a.m. in the morning. If this is the case, here is the solution I found:

There are 3 screws on the back of the steering wheel spokes (You don't have to take the steering wheel off!), remove them, then pull the center of the steering wheel off. You'll see a connector, disconnect and you won't have the horn going off (or a horn at all for that matter).

Easiest to pull the horn fuse, but you can pull the wire to the horn. Not sure if this model has two horns. On some models the really bury them.

Your picture looks like the correct wire.
