Doesn't white smoke mean a new Pope?, or is it black?
Seriously white smoke from a Diesel indicates one or more cylinders not combusting properly. Could be low compression (valves, damaged piston, head gasket) or poor spray performance from the injector nozzle. That might be air in the fuel or worse. Whatever it is it will cost unless you are competent to work on it yourself.

Hi there, the white smoke can be caused by numerous amounts of faults but 1 that springs to mind regards P12 Primera's (2002 onwards) is failed turbo and excessive oil bypass, could end up causing engine to self destruct, the engine starts to run on its own oil till it fails one way or another, earlier Primera's were really very reliable, It's only when Renault got involved that things went wrong, ie cost cutting.

on occasion whilst the pinnacle gasket is going it fairly is going to produce a passage for the antifreeze to pass from the capillaries into the combustion chamber. it is easy to benefit in case you have an air compressor. get rid of between the rear sparkplugs and the radiator cap. Fill the radiator and then push some air into the sparkplug hollow (get an excellent seal in case a valve is open). Repeat with all the cylinders and look ahead to air bubbles bobbing up into the radiator. If bubbles arise or fluid is pumped out, the pinnacle gasket is blown and gets replaced. it is greater probable to take place on the decrease back of the engine through fact it is farthest faraway from the fan and subsequently gets much less cooling. additionally examine your oil for discoloration. despite if it fairly is a brownish shade it might desire to signify your oil and antifreeze are mixing and has the potential to break your bearings.

Get a engine compression test to rule out the head gasket problem.
Injection pump should be adjustable, You may just need a tune up.
