Ok so I know it is not really possessed but the lights come on for no reason and the locks lock and unlock by themselves, which causes the battery to die eventually. I know it has to be an electrical problem, but is there an easy way to fix it without having to take it to an electrical shop.

That's why they are called Ford Exploders. Sorry but no easy fix. Trade the heap in on another car.

That sounds like a stripped wire somewhere (probably in the A-pillar beside the driver since the controls for both pass through that area).

There were some issues with some Ford's with security systems auto-locking, but they didnt unlock--there is no fix for that specific problem.

Keep a record of when it happens for a few days (be sure to include temp, raining, and anything else that may contribute), then see if you can take it for Ford to check it out for free. Dont let them do the work unless its cheap, but theyll usually poke around for free if youre nice.

Do you have the keyless entry keypad on the drivers door? If so it is probably leaking and corroded inside causing these problems. Another possibility is a door ajar switch sticking or intermittently reading the door as open.

yup record every thing when and what and how to help the tech to dianose it,,

might be the alarm module, probably seeing a ghost and giving you warning,,,

make sure you dont have a water leak inside above the fuse box,,will give the same symptom,,

You will need to replace the vsm (vehicle security module) there known for this very problem. This will need to be done by the dealer as it will require programing. God luck

Do you have a keyless entry (clicker) fob? You may be inadvertently pressing those buttons in your pocket or purse, which is causing the problem. Happens to wife often. If that's it, find a hard case to keep it in.

Have you tried calling an exorcist? How about ghost busters? Really you are going to have to locate the problem which could be in the ignition switch or somewhere throughout the wiring harness.
