You bought a throw away car. They have absolutely no resale value, but if you plan to keep it & drive it forever you can still get your money out of it! : ) They do hold up longer than 100K usually, too.. regardless of what was posted earlier. The key is maintenance. Keep it serviced & you'll be fine. The door handle must be a freak thing, because it is a normal body part like any other car manufacturer makes, the material is no different.
Good luck.

I have owned two Kias in the last 3 years. An '04 Spectra I had lasted me 625k over 2.5 years(98%freeway driving) I now have an '07 Optima since August. 30k miles. The Spectra had routine maintenance and one warranty fix. The Optima has had routine maintenance and not one problem. Previously owned Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota. Toyota lasted 336k Kia is by far most reliable. I will never buy anything else! The handle could be a problem associated with previous owner(reefing on it, ect.). I wish you luck.

It depends on the year.
At 75km its probably old enough to be a POS.
Theyre like Ford right now though; they spent years making horrible cars, now suddenly theyre among the most reliable out there-many are already lasting far past 100k miles. Theyre killing Honda and Toyota in quality, reliability, and features at a fraction of the price.
Honda, Toyota, Nissan etc are all coasting on their names. Their cars are getting worse each year while their prices go up.
Hyundai/Kia/Ford are the next big cars if things continue. Theyre going the opposite direction and people will catch on, but buying the older ones wont get you anywhere, they are crap.

When they first came out they were horrible. A buddy of mine bought a brand new sephia for $6,500. He had so many problems with it. However, he took it into the dealership and they would fix it, no questions. He eventually got sick of it and traded it in for a Honda.
I've heard that they've gotten a lot better. I still won't buy one though.

Kia's are good quality and reliable if they are newer than 2001. All the Kia's made before 2001 have bad quality and average reliability.

You get what you pay for. You can get a brand new kia for $9,000. But it will only last you 100k miles, buy a nissan or toyota or chevy for 18,000 it will last you 200,000 miles easy. I wouldn't count on your car for much over 125k and wouldn't bother sticking any major repairs into it.

Old ones are POS. New ones are better. But you will get burnt on the resale value, if you intend to sell soon.
