Not possible. The 4.0L SOHC V6 equipped models use the 5R55E transmission and the part-time transfer case. This transfer case will neither work with, or bolt up to the 4R70W transmission in 5.0L V8 equipped models.

You would have to replace the transfer case, reprogram most of the control computers. Also you would probably have to replace some the other drive train components. Also you would have to install the 4WD switch into the cabin as well. I'd bet it would cost you over $5,000.

Dumb question, but... why would you want to? If it's just for "fuel savings", the mods would likely cost as much as the cost of the vehicle itself, so not worth the trouble.
