I purchased a used 1996 Sunfire, and it has an indicator light coming on recently. It is a red rectangle with a wavy line at the bottom and an arrow pointing down. It keeps flashing on and off. I took it to autozone, but it isn't staying on long enough to store a code in the computer for them to be able to tell me what is wrong with it. I think it might have to do with either the cooling system or the water pump. Anyone else know what it is?

The light is located on the right side of the dash close to the "check engine light"

It's a low coolant warning light indicator. The sensor/switch for this is inside the coolant reservoir. Either you have a low coolant level or the switch is faulty. These don't set codes.

It is probably low washer fluid, could also be low coolant in radiator. Check them both, and while the hood is up check your oil level, power steering and brake fluid level. Then you'll be ready for winter, fluid wise.
