Ok So there's this guy thats selling a car...Which will be my first car[I'm 16 yay!!!]... Here's the stats:

-96 Mitsubishi Galant
-Transmission broken [Therefore its not drivable]
-AC/Heat works
-4 door [passenger side door slightly broken]
-Paint fading slightly
-Battery works but is uncharged
-Power windows and locks
-Leather seats clean interior
-All this for $350

My dad is a mechanic and can get a used transmission for under $200 and he says he can fix the door...All the battery needs in a boost...I don't know the mileage though...Do you think its a good deal?

I notice there is an MSRP price and then an e-price. What is an e-price, and can you negotiate off of that price?

tahoe or yukon either one. I'm not looking for it to last me for the next ten years, just a good few years without any major problems. I'm used to having hondas that have lasted forever but I'm ready for an SUV. And I don't wanna hear anything about other car options I just wanna know about the tahoe or yukon. I'm not a mechanic but I know a little more than average about cars so I'm aware that it depends on how the car was taken care of and maintenance records and all that. So assuming the car had it's routine maintenance and was taken care of properly, is 80,000-100,000 miles too many miles for $10-$12k. Thanks.

In general, would the factory warranty still be active for the new buyer?
Thanks!!!!!!

My father has retired his 1982 Pontiac T1000. It is basically still in good condition, but may need an engine. He has about 50,000 miles on it. The roof is rusty and door hinges need changing and it has been sitting in our yard for nearly a year now. He plans to junk it, but I believe that he could sell it to Hollywood or something as an antique. Who would buy a car like that, and for how much? Does anyone know the answer?

I know this question is pretty generic, but I am sick of being taken advantage of in the car buying/selling process. It doesn't seem like a single car dealership can be trusted to do the right thing for consumers. I know there are many online alternatives as well as advertising locally, but can anyone recommend any that are reliable, trustworthy, and effective?

Anyone know the best bargain for a 2007 economy car in the NJ/Pennsylvania/Delaware area? Lookin for cheapest price, highest mileage, etc. Not a stickler for a quiet, comfortable ride, mainly concerned with economy & longevity. Thanks for any thoughts/info!

Two and a half years ago I blindly bought my first car, a '96 Chrysler Sebring. Its a cute car and my uncle who is a mechanic said to buy it....bad idea. After a long struggle of the car having problems repeatedly it finally died for good almost 2 weeks ago. I was given a loan of 5000 dollars by a family member and am trying my hardest to be really smart this time around. I plan on buying something around 13,000. I want something super reliable, something that requires little maitenance. I live in a large city that requires alot of driving though I don't often drive very long distances. I have been considering a Honda Civic, Toyota Yaris and the Volkswagen New Beetle. At this point I want the New Beetle the most but am unsure about its reliability. I am a college student who waitresses and I don't want a huge car payment for the rest of my life. Also something that isn't going to have insurance rates that go through the roof. Thanks
