She is 19 yrs old and has put me literally thru hell. If I dont help her to buy a car, she will be here forever and not have a way to work. I am trying to help her get out on her own.
My risk is going to be big if I help her out.
She probably will run the tires off the car, so it has to be reliable.
She may move in with a boyfriend and let him drive the tires off the car
She may quit her job and leave me with the payments
She may wreck the car and not make the payments
She has a history of doing really ignorant things. Should I help her with the car?
I tried to help her get a car loan and they will not finance a car since she has literally worked her 1st job at Walmart for 3 days.
We live in rural america and she has no other way to get to work.

My friend just bought a car, had a trade-in, signed the contract for a specific term, payment amount, trade in allowance, and new car price. But the "lender name" was blank. He's had possession of the new vehicle for a couple weeks and now the dealer is saying they couldnt get financing approved at the contract terms. They want him to re-sign a new contract with a higher payment, higher interest rate, and a longer term. They also SOLD his trade-in already.
What are his options now?
They wanted to give him a check for his trade in that would be short $3500 to payoff the loan, and he would have to give them back the car, leaving him with no car at all.

Buyer contacted me via ad for my car & put forward his car as a possible exchange +£.

He viewed my car, didn't drive it I drove the car with buyer in the passenger seat for around 3miles. We then sat in his car (he drove) the same distance/route and I looked at his car.

He advised the condition of his car and I advised the condition of mine (mentioning the 3 bits that needed attention that I was aware of). I also advised buyer he is more then welcome to do any inspection/checks as I had no service history for my car.

We both agreed a price and he gave me £100 deposit and I wrote out a receipt.

3 days later buyer came in his car, we completed the V5. On his request I wrote him out a reciept; his car + £amount for my car, writing registrations of both cars on receipt & 'sold as seen'. I didn't get a reciept of him.

Buyer has since had an inspection and few more issues have come about that I was not aware of. He now wants to take legal action - where do I stand?

What car would you suggest for a family of four? ($35,000-$60,000). We currently have a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder LE and a 2003 BMW 325i... but both will be trade-ins. BMW's are nice, but ours has had a lot of problems... are the 07's more reliable? Thanks.

p.s. parents late 30's, low 40's and a 17&19 year old.

I have a 2003 Honda Civic lease due in Sept. 2007. My payoff on the car is aprrox. $9,500 and it currently has 57,045 miles on it. The buy back at the end is $7,511. My question is would be economically stupid to buy this car at the end or would it be best to just give it back?

I was going to put it on ebay and sell tickets to win it. The tickets were going to be like $50 a piece and i was going to sell 400 tickets. So you have a one in 400 chance of getting a 2001 tundra for $50. It books for about $11500. Would any of you do that or do you think it is a good idea? one more thing i was thinking of doing it with those plasic easter eggs and mailing them to the people that bid and whoever gets that one wins. They are actually buying the eggs and I am just giving them the truck

I'm looking at buying my first car. I could put up with a car, but if fuel economy wasn't a big issue, I'd really like a truck. I found out you can get an old Dodge Dakota for as little as a Honda Civic(my car of choice) But what's the fuel economy of the Dakota. I don't want to spend all my money on fuel. Probably I'm looking at two generations ago, like 1990. If anybody has any experience with these, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm waiting for a package to come in the mail, and since you can track your order online I can see that it checked into a town that's about 2 hours away (yayy not that far!). Granted, it takes time for them to check in the arrival/departure, but it's 2:30 right now. How late do UPS people deliver packages? Until 5 PM, 4 PM, around what time? I would like to know if there is any of the slightest chance of receiving it today... :D it's my new guitar...

It's a 1988 Nissan 200sx w/ some problems. It needs a new starter for one and it needs to pass the smog check. Other than that it runs good but, to fix it, would be more than what I originally paid. I wondered if it would be better to sell it to a private party that has the resources to fix it or just donate it to a junk yard and claim in on my taxes next year. What to do...what to do...

We purchased a truck from a dealership and I believe there is a 30 day warrentee. Now about 2-3 months after purchase we have fixed the rear differential, they fixed a crack in the windshield from purchase, the back right shock is leaking from purchase, tightened belts in the transmission in hopes we won't have to replace the transmission. The differential was part of trying to fix the problems without having to pay the $3500 to get a new transmission. If we did buy a bad transmission does this qualify for the lemon law? and what should I do?
