I sold a van to a "friend" on payments. I am the lien holder on the title and have his signature on a signed contract. He left state and I don't have an address or social #, and he called and said the vehicle blew up on the other side of the country. Anyone know what steps I can take to get retribution? Thanks for your commments.

My car broke down on me and I need to get a new one but I don't make enough to pay a monthly payment plus insurance. So I was wanting to get a student loan to buy a car and that way I can pay it off after I graduate and get a better job.

i want to buy a car in the next few months. Though I don't want to deal with the hassels of buying a used car, I'm not sure I want to buy a new one either. What are some pros and cons to buying used or new cars. Thoughtful answers please.

I have a 1991 Mazda 626. There's problems with it, main thing being that the transmission went out.

Should I donate it? Or you think someone would buy it even tho for a couple hundred? I heard you barely benefit anything by donating.

Another thing I wish I can do is to take it out in the desert or something and have a demolition party, but the legalities of it? lol. is there any way i can do this without getting busted?

I'm looking to buy a USED car (or SVU). What do you think i should get? The car or SVU cant cost more than 30k, 2002 or later model, AWD (is a must, since i plan to transfer to a 4 year school in a city that snows) and factory installed navigation.

btw...dont want a hummer or any SUV that gets less than 15 mpg...

I'm planning on getting a new 2007 Honda Civic EX but it doesnt come with leather seats. It has pretty much everything I want but leather seats would be perfect. The dealer says he can have them put on (for an extra charge of course) but there not Honda manafactured. So it would be done elsewhere... Do you think this is a good idea? Or should I just stick with the regular seats it comes with? He says its an extra $1,400. Dont know if I should trust it or not....

I bought a used car from a dealer in Syracuse, NY with a bad transmission. It is a 93 LeBaron with 135,000 miles on it. It drove off the lot OK then the transmission went a few miles later. He's been "working on it" for OVER 2 MONTHS!! He continues to delay me with new excuses every week. He won't give me my money back and yet he won't admit the car is no good. Other than the NY State DMV, Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau are there any other sources besides a lawyer to ask for help?
