astra sport, as u should get warranty, wont need to MOT it for 4 years, u would be sure its in perfect condition. you get none of this from 2nd hand motor. and dont buy a mini unless your life depends on it

Unless you are going to keep it in a garage overnight then don't go for a convertible, Insurance is a killer. Go for the Astra sport, more versatile and still fun to drive. To get a Mini to the same spec as the Astra sport will cost about an extra £2500.

gotta be the astra, unless ur planning on upping the specs on the mini, in which case, maybe consider tht. convertible isnt the best of choices in england unless it's ur second or third car and u only want it for sunny days. as a first car, i'd pick the astra

Go for the mini if you like the thrill of cornering and road holding. It will also hold its price well on the second hand car market. The vauxhall is a nice car but the values will drop like a stone after 2 years. The saab i`m afraid is a hairdressers motor and costly to run.At the end of the day go for the car that best suits you.

Opel..are you MAD!
A mini is a cool car but OTT on the price, As for a Saab there no the most reliable car and parts are expensive, they also start to have major problems after 50k.

If you want to buy a cool car something you can rely on I recommend Toyota, Honda or a Hyundai. You can't go wrong with a Jap car and the parts are reasonable.
The only German make I would recommend is Audi or BMW as they retain there value.

I myself drive a classic sports car (Mustang)which is easy to maintain and retains its value, the parts can be expensive but hey its a classic! Tax and Insurance is also dirt cheap on classic cars.

Good luck, happy car hunting..

They are 3 completely different types of car.
You need to work out what you want from a car - do you need passenger and/or luggage space? Do you need motorway refinement? Do you park on the street, making a soft-top a risky purchase?

I could understand if you couldn't decide between an Astra, Golf, Focus and Mégane, but these three are so different that they can't possibly all fit your needs.

Whatever you do...DON't get the MINI!! Sure, it's a fun little car to knock around in, but if you ever drive through too big of a puddle (and we're not talking huge, here), then you could be DUNZO!! That happened to my girlfriend's car in Florida...it just stalled out and was never right again! Poor Mini. :-(

As a second car for fun a soft top will be most fun, you want something completely different to your everyday car so whenever you drive it you feel a sense of occasion :-) Mini convertibles are very cool!

Dont touch Vauxhall unless you enjoy changing head gaskets every other week?? Mini with the german influence a better car than before, Saab good car a little expensive with repairs.

Avoid the Mini.

Not as good going around corners as its made out to be and it has a very low build quality.
