I'm planning on getting a new 2007 Honda Civic EX but it doesnt come with leather seats. It has pretty much everything I want but leather seats would be perfect. The dealer says he can have them put on (for an extra charge of course) but there not Honda manafactured. So it would be done elsewhere... Do you think this is a good idea? Or should I just stick with the regular seats it comes with? He says its an extra $1,400. Dont know if I should trust it or not....

In most cases aftermarket leather would be even better than the factory leather. Remember, your just talking about a honda civic (no pun intended) and if it did come with leather, how good would the leather be?

If you want to put leather seats in, aftermarket leather is always better...

If you want leather seats, then get leather seats, if the dealer doesn't have the car, then he can contact other dealers and find you one. Gone are the days that you have to take what they serve. You are an American consumer and you deserve the best. If you want it and can afford it then get it, and accept nothing less. You will have to live with this car for a number of years, don't settle, demand.

I don't think an ex civic has leather available from the factory, so the dealer can't find one elsewhere (another dealer)

Hey its up to you whether or not it;'s a good idea. If you can foot the bill no problem and want leather, go for it.
