what are they called and what is the advantage?

I have a winch for my recovery truck,its quite an old unit I think (warn 5000 ?) as there's only 2 wires going to the motor. one Red and one Black.
I can't afford a new unit at the moment so I'm hoping to use the one I got.
Problem is how to wire it so it goes forward and backwards.
Getting the solenoids is not a problem just how to connect everything to get it the way I want.
I tried Google but I not getting anywhere.
Sensible answers only please.

like what comes in the lil kit you use to put it on your windows
and also are you supposed to use oil to slick the tint on?

I'm a brand new driver and I'm looking for my first vehicle. I need a vehicle that I can rely on, especially in the snow. The area in Pennsylvania I live in usually gets some good snow coming its way. Along with the colleges I have applied to. I'm big into Fords and like both the Ford F-150s and The Explorer. But I also really like Jeep and have heard a lot of great things about the vehicles they produce. I have chosen that I really like the Jeep Grand Cherokee and between the years (1999-2004). I was wondering how do they do in the snow and in bad winter conditions?

Hi, I hope someone can help. My car uses a big jug of coolant every week, and whenever i put coolant in it blows out these big white poofy smoke clouds. I have taken my car to a mechanic who told me I had nothing to worry about unless it started blowing out black smoke. But it really stinks and people are afraid to ride in my car. I don't really know what to do, I was told once that it would cost $300 to fix it, this was from a different mechanic. I'm afraid of getting ripped off, so I really would like to know what the problem is before I take it in.

My hubby and I have a 99 ford taurus. Nice car, running really good till last night. He said the starter making like a dragging noise when you turn to start the car. Will do it for a few seconds then the car starts up.
We called down here for a rebuilt one, and it going to cost us 120. New one he said be around 140 to 160. Well the holidays are here, and we can't go out right now and get one. Is there anyway to nix it till we can get one ?
I keep praying it hold till past christmas, so we have a car going to visit both ur families. This is the only car, we have right now. I dunno nothing bout car, only know how to drive one. LOL
So please any helpful tips are welcome.

I hear so many people saying it's so good to shut off your engine while sitting at a stop light. I for one don't see it being so cost effective in the long run. Wouldn't you be putting wear and tear on your starter and engine? They also say that your car doesn't need to warm up. I was always told that you should let it warm up because oils don't move as quick because it's so thick thus not oiling properly makeing parts vulnerable to failure. Am I the only one who thinks that letting your car warm up for five minutes isn't such a bad thing? Am I the only one thinking that shutting my car off after 10 seconds at a red light is pointless because once my starter goes bad, there goes all my savings on gas? A starter for my truck costs $400. Will I save that much before my starter goes bad? Something to think about.

I'm thinking about getting a sportbike, duh. But what kind? It would be my first.. I want something kinda fast and cool. (Not too fast mind you.) Was thinking about a Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa, Honda CBR 600RR, or Yamaha R1. OR, just tell me a good one to get. I'm not wanting to go over 7k.

BTW I can't get a new bike at 7k... So it would be used. Just to let you ppl know..

I would like some opinions on what could be wrong with my 98 windstar it won't start. It started fine today I did all my erranes came home and half an hour later went to go to work and the van won't start. All you get is the normal clicking sound all dash lights are normal the battery tested good (12.26 volts) with multmeter even disconected the battery to reset the computer ( had to do that a few times with my old aerostar) , fuel shutoff switch was not triped the button is still down and still the van will not start. The only thing strange is when I turn the key a few times the power locks will lock and then unlock.
dose anyone have any ideas as to what to check ? I'm mechanically impaired LOL

I just bought a 1985 Oldsmobile 442. It is one of 3,000 produced in 1985. I checked the VIN and RPO codes and it is a genuine 442. I also found out that there were very few produced in white with a blue interior, like mine. The drivetrain is a 455 out of a 1970 442, so it's not numbers matching. How much is it worth?

hen i play my drums i can double pedal real good but once i get into like faster doubles the left pedal backlashes my unlce told me not to mess with them but i need to fix them now!! lol
