Thanks all. Tune up was done a while b4 this happened and the engine temp is ok. I will check the O2 and MAF sensors over the holidays and see. Was thinking injectors but runs great and nothing out the exhaust.

There could be a leak. . have you noticed anything on the ground where you park the durango? It could also just need a tune up. I would take it to a mechanic just to be sure though. Good luck!!

If your car is not warming up, or the computer does not know that the car is warmed up, then it will use more gas.

The computer (ECU) runs the car rich because gasoline does not atomize well in cold engines. So the computer dumps extra fuel so some of it will atomize. Usually you can tell if your heater never blow warm air (broken thermostat), or your water temp dial never moves up (broken water temp sensor).

Also if your O2 sensor or MAF sensor is in starting to fail, then you can also have bad mileage. But often these parts will make the check engine light come on (just not always).

Good Luck

P.S. It is interesting that your car started getting bad mileage as the weather started turning cold.

time for a tune up. Somethings gone wrong. Perhaps a bad sensor?
