I just bought Ford Taurus GL (1994) and started having a problem. At first, steam was coming out of hood and I took the car to Tunex, and they told that Water Pump needs to be replaced, they replaced it and at the same time they performed Emission Tests. The car passed the Emission Test, and when I was driving it back home, "Check Engine" light came on. What is it? Why is it showing this? Does it disappear? Any suggestions? Thank you.

My 1976 Chevy Stepside is a project truck none of the gauges work, it has a 350 motor which i want to add a little more HP and torque the interior needs a dash, instrument panel, door panels seat ....the works the bed wood floor needs replacing xhaust and body work...where do I begin and what is the best set up for the motor

i can get this car for 1 grand the motor runs and that is a 350 or 402, it has a 6 pack in it. but transmition dont run and needs alot of new parts

does any one have any clue what year it is and should i buy it??

I recently performed some dent repair work on my car which involved respraying a few sections.

At a distance of say 5-10 metres, it looks fine, but up close you can quite clearly see that the new paint is darker and therefore does not match. This is extremely annoying to me because I think people are staring at my car thinking how crap my paint job is.

As such, can anybody suggest a quick way to fade the paint that I could do over a weekend or so?

The only thought I had was giving it a very very light sand but you people might have a better method? It's a metallic pearlescent in a champagne colour.

Hello, I am in the market for a new vehicle. I would like to buy a 2005 or newer, I currently own a 1997 jeep wrangler w/ 130,000 miles on it and it has seen it's better days. I am looking for an SUV with plenty of room for kids, camping, road trips etc.. and that can pull a small trailer for short distances. I am looking at the following:
-Toyota 4runner
-Nissan pathfinder or Xterra
-Jeep (grand cherokee or liberty)

Please rank or suggest a different SUV, I'm looking at spending < $20,000

2005 Honda civic with 46000 miles on it and the original tires (bridgestone 15") which are worn but not down to the treadwear bars. It has always made sort of a very low growling sound. You can shut the engine off and it will still make the noise. I have noticed it getting considerably louder recently. I am pretty sure its not a wheel bearing since turns make no difference.

If I apply the brakes it sligthly dampens the sound but otherwise the noise is completely dependent upon vehicle speed. Also it has a manual transmission FWD with all of the scheduled maintenance done on it.

So lets hear it......pinion bearing or something similar, or just plain old tires?

The heater in my 95 grand am is making lots of noise and only blows warm air. when it is in park it will get hot but as soon as i start driving it goes down. also the temp gauge in my dash reads just below the 1/4 line. please help!

I live in Florida and am driving to Tennessee (in the mountains) in January and I know I will run into ice. I was thinking about investing into some tire chains or anything else that you can put on the tire to increase traction. There will be some minor hills... Do tire chains really work? What are the best kinds to get, and will they really work on small hills and such?

When you enter the car and turn the key everything is fine, but when you turn the radio on and put your driver's side seat belt on the back right speaker shuts off. I have taken it to get a diagnostic done on the electrical system to see if there is a short, but no mechanic has been able to find out what it is. Also, the battery keeps getting drain, but when you meter the altenater the out put is 14.2, which is right where it should be. Does anyone have any ideas?

I just bought a 98 GTP and learned about the performacne shift button on the shifter. However when I push it no light comes on the dash and I'm not sure I notice a differance. Is there anyway to check if it is working or not? Also the cruise don't work I thought maybe it has something to do with that. I'm a Mustang guy at heart so I don't know much about these GTP'S. Any help would be great!!!

My friend was driving my car & got into an accident, damage is about $5k, my insurance deductable is $1k. The police report & insurance report stats my friend was 100% at fault.
