I just bought a 98 GTP and learned about the performacne shift button on the shifter. However when I push it no light comes on the dash and I'm not sure I notice a differance. Is there anyway to check if it is working or not? Also the cruise don't work I thought maybe it has something to do with that. I'm a Mustang guy at heart so I don't know much about these GTP'S. Any help would be great!!!

there is a switch by your brake pedal that disables the cruise control when you tap the brake, check that. also check clubgp.com LOTS of stuff there also regalgs.org has lots of stuff because the Buick regal and the Pontiac GP are pretty much the same car

There are a great bunch of people in the Grand Prix Web ring that can answer most of your questions. The performance button should light up a indicator on the drivers info screen to the right if not there is a switch issue. The switch grounds a terminal in the ECM that changes the shift points slightly. WE used to use that signal to change the mapping of the engine control. Reprogramed ECM's Smaller top supercharger pulleys. MY 1997 was Modified for road race track koni's, baer brakes and sway bars and could turn sub 14 second 1/4 mile times.
