I am thinking about building my own motorcycle and I was just wondering what is the process to get a title and license plates for it? I am going to buy all the parts and build the frame myself so I will not have a VIN number. How do I get a VIN number? Will I have to stamp it into the frame somewhere? Will I have to have safety inspections or emission tests on the bike? Is there any specific measurement requirements(does it have to so long, so high, minimun weight or anything like that)?

Thanks for any comments

I need to find a engine wiring harness to put in a 97 Geo Prizm (a clone of the 97 Corolla) that has a 1.8L 7A-FE engine.

Toyota started putting 7A-FE engines in Corollas in 1993. Is a wiring harness from a 1993 (or whatever) Corolla interchangeable with a 1997 Prizm/Corolla?

Is there somewhere on the Internet with this sort of information.

Besides the 1.8L engine size, I assume the the harness needs to come from a car with AT & AC to match the car it's going into. The car it's going into doesn't have factory cruise control; does it matter if the harness comes from a car with factory cruise control?

I have a 1998 Buick Century, bought with 75,000 miles and now have 109,000 miles. My mechanic told me that because the antifreeze is leaking into the engine, it is going to ruin the engine and I would therefore have to have all the cylinder heads replaced, at an estimated cost of $1,500. I don't have that kind of money! Isn't there any other alternative; can't I just fix the antifreeze somehow to stop it from leaking into the engine and get a new head gasket put on? I know mechanics sometimes think "hey, there's a woman, she'll be mechanically stupid so I'll just charge as much as I can" and I can't afford that right now, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am going on an Amtrack for the 1st time this weekend. I have to figure this whole thing out before I do something stupid. I am going to Chicago and need some help.
How early should I get to the train station?
Do they check bags?
Is there anything special I should know about riding a train?
When I get to Chicago, will they tell me when its time to hop off?
Do I take the 29 inch Samsonite roller on the train with me or do they have somewhere to put it?
Thanks

my father in law has always been interested in motor cars, he is a engineer, the problem is i just bought a project car 66 mustang. I've asked people certain questions on restoring the car and they have always suggested the way i would do things. the problem with my father in law is that he likes to go for the quick and cheap alternative of doing things "right". i'e reverting in floor pans as opposed to welding or using sheet metal over buying floor pans, or any primer in the shed compared to buying paint and spraying with a hvlp gun. how could i politely tell him that I'm doing it my way - keep in mind my car is in his driveway and i've only been married to his daughter for 6 months.

One that can drop in a 3rd gen 3sgte engine on my 91 mr2 turbo (the engine I currently have has almost 200,000 miles on it and has to many problems that I think would be cheaper to "upgrade" to a 3rd gen engine). Oh and one more question. I read to on mr2 club forms that one shouldnt spend more than 5 grand on the engine+service+labor. Is this correct?

are seats belts enough to be safe, especially for racing/drifting? cuz i wanted to take the airbags out for a new steering wheel. plus some1 said if you get in a accident and you don't wear a helmet you will hit the roll cage and crak you head open. is that true, isn't that why there is a seat belt?

I just bought a 2.3l 94 ford ranger, naturally the first thing i did was change the oil but the oil didnt show on the dipstick untill the next morning. so when it showed i thought everything was fine. then i drove about 300 miles and my check oil light showed up and the oil wasnt showing on the dipstick anymore. Also the oil pressure gauge shows no pressure (at first i thought it was busted but now im not so sure).

anyone got any idea of whats wrong?
