The other day my brand new Toyota Corolla 2007, started to smell and slowly loose power while driving in bumper to bumper traffic for thirty minutes, I was in the left lane on a three lane highway and had to get to the right curb in order to stop, all that I had left was a very weak 1st gear to get there, which is when I think I burnt the clutch, but I don't think it was what caused the lack of power in the first place, however I can't seem to convince the mechanics to look further... as all they see is a burnt clutch...

I have been driving standard for ten years and have never burnt a clutch before, this is why I find it hard to beleive that I did this to my not even a year old car. However who am I to argue...?
Could it be that the clutch was defective as it gave off a weak smell from time to time even in the beginning, even when someone else was driving...Could it be some other underlying problem...

I thought maybe the battery terminals or cables, but if i put another battery in the car, it will start right up. Since the battery seems to have a bit of a charge with, what is the problem? Is it maybe a cell went bad, and there is not enough power to crank the engine, but enough for radio, horn, lights, etc? It is one of the old style batteries (not a non maint battery). Here in the Dominican Republic most cars have them. It is a 2005 model year car.

The battery is about 4 months old and the lights in the car do come on. I have tried to jump start it already to no success. Two relays do click when the key is turned. Could this be the starter motor? If so, is this difficult to replace? Could it be anything with the computer in the car? Blown fuse? It was struggling to start for about the past couple weeks when the weather started getting a little cooler. Please help.

Thanks,

I'm planning to buy a family sedan- basic options in Kuwait. I've heard that performance is limited in the '08 Lancer but good in the '08 Tiida. However, it seems that the Lancer is comfortable on the body compared to a Tiida? The Lancer is good looking but the Tiida is not that bad either. Which vehicle should I go for? Also is CVT a major benefit or should I go for a normal A/T transmission. I'm just looking to get a dependable family vehicle. Please help me to decide!!

My friend who works in the same office said she had to come in late because her new 328 needed oil again and the dealer only adds oil to fix the problem. Is this safe or normal? Has anyone heard about this before? She said there is no black smoke coming out the back so where does it go?

Why are all the signs on the highway green? Is it because the state sign guys all smoke pot and think it's a pretty color? Why not something that's bright red, or yellow, or pink, Oh bright hot pink signs would be awesome, you could never miss them.

I am about to put an apple sticker on my car. Like the ones that come with the ipods and stuff. I had been meaning to do this for over a year and never got around to it. I know the whole application proccess I own my own vinyl business i dont need to hear any of that and yes I know how to take it off of course I own chemicals to do that. But my only question is should I put it:
1) At the bottom right hand corner of the rear window.
2) On the back most passenger side window at the bottom
3) On the pack most drivers side window at the bottom.

My car is white so it would be stupid to put it on my car.
