I'm planning to buy a family sedan- basic options in Kuwait. I've heard that performance is limited in the '08 Lancer but good in the '08 Tiida. However, it seems that the Lancer is comfortable on the body compared to a Tiida? The Lancer is good looking but the Tiida is not that bad either. Which vehicle should I go for? Also is CVT a major benefit or should I go for a normal A/T transmission. I'm just looking to get a dependable family vehicle. Please help me to decide!!

Also the Tiida has more cargo space than the Lancer?

The only way for you to evaluate the performance of the cars is to take what you're looking at out for a test drive and see if they provide what you want. You want to have a good look at them and just see which you like better.

CVT is a benefit as it gives effectively an infinite speed transmission (allowing the engine to always operate at peak efficiency or peak power depending on your needs) and tends to get slightly better fuel economy but you'll only know if you like it after a test drive.
