If Someone Jumped Out In Front Of A Car?

with the intention of suicide, would the driver be charged with manslaughter?

what about involuntary manslaughter? And how much time is that?

I personally know a truck driver that something like that happened to. A lady jumped off an overpass and hit the hood of his truck. When she hit the front of the truck she destroyed the hood and busted the windshield. He was not charged with anything, because he could not do anything about it. And it is sad to say but the man never got back into the drivers seat of a semi-truck again. He would not even move one of the trucks around in the yard. And this was over 15 years ago.

If there was a way a driver could have avoided the collision, he may be charged.

Remember, there is no way the driver could no the pedestrian's intentions. Just because the pedestrian wants to commit suicide, is no reason a driver should just continue driving into the person.

if they could prove that the person was trying to commit suicide there probably wouldn't be any charges pressed this has been done before and to the best of my knowledge the person didn't get charged with it,but they had a witness that seen the whole thing happen and knew that the person was going to do this,it would be up to the courts to decide this even if it went to trial,it gets kind of technical when it comes down to someone loosing their life,and our court system isn't the best in the world ,but its what we live by,good luck on it.

I would say that all of that would be figured out by the police, and then the courts. I have no idea how long the sentence would be for.

I WOULD NEED MORE INFORMATION CONCERNING THE SITUATION INCLUDING THE JUMPERS LIFE STYLE AS WELL AS THE DRIVERS.

THERE WOULD TO MANY VARIABLES TO CONSIDER BEFORE I COULD HONESTLY ANSWER THIS QUESTION.
