I am asking here before I go to dealership but i think I just need to get my brakes done and maybe get something else replaced. Okay recently I put 18" rims on my car, i think this also is an adding effect. 2 months after the rims my breaks began to squeal loudly when I hit breaks, I am guessing that I need to get some more break pads. but also I noticed a slight rotating sound when driving comming from my wheels. I cant tell exactly what it is but I know it cant be good lol. The break light in my Cadillac has also recently come on so I need to do something ASAP. any suggestions? I am going to dealership tomorrow to get something done but i know if I dont tell them to look at something, they woulnt.

I prefer American. I am an American, I want to support the workers that are working here on the home front so hard to give us the products that are the lifeline of our modern society.

I have nothing against Japanese cars, but I really don't believe they're as good as believed to be. They're good at making more fuel-efficient cars, which there is a large market for in America, but Honda is the only Japanese brand I trust in terms of dependability and comfort.

Korean cars...suck. As for European cars, they're uber-expensive to repair, and the only Euro brand I'd trust for reliability is Volvo.

I have a Dodge Intrepid with 212,000 miles; I put an average of 20,000 miles a year on that thing. The "check engine" light has stayed on for the last 20,000 miles, but me, my dad, and my mechanic (who is a darn good one, at that) can't even find anything wrong. It's running in tip-top condition, looks nice on the outside, very comfortable--I may just "drive it into the ground."

Ok. I have some electrical problems on my 96 taurus. I want them fixed as this has been a great car and it is my backup car. I have had this car since new, it was a ford program car so we got it with 1700 miles on it in 95. Here are the problems. Its windows and interior lights dont work. All fuses are getting power and none are blown. It was in an accident and the passenger door is off a 97, the car has lights in the doors(courtesy lights) but the 97 does not have this wired into the door, i dont think it would be the problem as that circuit isnt complete if the bulb blows. the wiring in the door also seems to match up but i could be wrong. If anyone has any idea what it could be since all the fuses are good and the system before the fuses are good, let me know. I do not know where it goes from the fuses, but i do know that the relays are good too, all new. I just want to know what components could be bad and where the wiring goes AFTER the fuses and relays. it is a 96 GL Wagon.

I drive with two feet in a automatic and I live in sofla. I taught myself how to drive, i took my drivers test, passed it with flying colors, never got spoken to about using 2 feet. I have gotten into 2 accidents, both in which i was re-ended due to braking too fast because the person in front of me braked too fast, and the person behind me wasn't paying attention. And when i accelerate from braking, or vise versa i always make sure one only one foot is being used, so i don't mess up the transmission. Also, when I drive and i am not using the brake my left foot does not stay on top of the brake, i move it to the side until I need it, so my brake light isn't always on, and i don't wear out my brake pads. My friends ALWAYS comment about me doing it, and say that when i get into an accident that i wont brake fast enough. but i have been in accidents, and i have braked. Why else would it be bad for my car? If someone gives me a valid reason, i will stop...but i haven't found one yet.

Personally I don't think that is possible. I've seen the specifications on the 2008 Honda Fit and Cruise Control is listed as a standard option for the manual transmission. Maybe is just a typo...

Any way to get rid of this? Just to let you know, for the remote wire i tapped into the fuse for the cigarette lighter. it plays fine, i would just like to get rid of the random BOOM when my car turns on. Also, in everyones opinion, what is the best sound deadening material for its price on the market? I know of dynamat, fatmat, eDead (by ED), and roadkill (by Stinger), but I am not limited to these.

thanks much

I am moving to the US (Chicago) from Australia next year and are looking at various types of cars to consider purchasing. I need a car that doesn't chew through fuel, is relatively cheap (less than $3000), has cheap registration and are a pleasure to drive. Any suggestions?

Well some young kids father would not give him the money, mine did, and I quit after 2 months (long ago) Twice before I had to stop, (left the USA to live in Australia, got married/divorced, moved back, new wife/ house) but I am, at 40+ trying again, with two jobs, wife (who thinks I am nuts) and all the other stuff. I would love to hear some motivational stories, like some that I have read, the winter and my lack of hours can get me down. Although Some day, I will own a Spitfire, I swear (even if it's only R/C , LOL)!

I went about a block from my home to the local bank on returning and getting out of the van I noticed a "hissing" sound coming from beneath the van. There was steam coming from under the van not where the radatior is located. While driving the dashboard didn't light up of gave me any indication that the van was overheated. I put antifreeze and water in the radaitor but the liquid just leaked right back out from the underneath the raditor. I had my van checked a few months because I was having to constantly refill the radiator. I was told there was not a leak in the raditor but yet the thing kept losing fluid. It was not leaking into any other part of the engie I was told. My husband is deployed and I would like to know something about this issue before having to pay another mechanic . PLEASE HELP!!!! It is leaking from the undercarriage not anywhere near the raditor.
