I prefer American. I am an American, I want to support the workers that are working here on the home front so hard to give us the products that are the lifeline of our modern society.

I have nothing against Japanese cars, but I really don't believe they're as good as believed to be. They're good at making more fuel-efficient cars, which there is a large market for in America, but Honda is the only Japanese brand I trust in terms of dependability and comfort.

Korean cars...suck. As for European cars, they're uber-expensive to repair, and the only Euro brand I'd trust for reliability is Volvo.

I have a Dodge Intrepid with 212,000 miles; I put an average of 20,000 miles a year on that thing. The "check engine" light has stayed on for the last 20,000 miles, but me, my dad, and my mechanic (who is a darn good one, at that) can't even find anything wrong. It's running in tip-top condition, looks nice on the outside, very comfortable--I may just "drive it into the ground."

Also: my dad has a Dodge Caravan ('94) with 240,000 miles and still running better than most newer vehicles I've rode in. Previously, he had an '88 Caravan that he had to give up at 225,000 miles, but it was still a good, dependable ride.

Myself i go Japanese although i did find out after a few other cars including American and German.
My Dad had told me even back in the early eighties Japanese where the better, but where and are expensive.
So most of my cars have been as said American and German. It wasn't until i was given an old Japanese car from my Farther in law that i realised what i had been missing and then not long after my Mum passed away and i took on her Nissan 180/200sx,Wow again a great car all round, high mileage but still the power and greatness of a new car.
I went back onto a German car one more time but within a year i was back on Japanese and stayed there for my last 4 cars, and hopefully still staying there.
An example was the other day i had my cam-belt done and 3 mechanics where round more car reving it and saying that's the sound of a real engine and it does seem like that against many other cars.Every American car i personally have had or come across seems noisy with a rattling engine and the engine fails into higher miles iam not saying every American but The ones i have had and friends also, they seem to be throw away cars.German cars seem to have a little better engines but fail on the Bodywork as this seems to fail way early.
The experience i have had have been we the lower not really low but lower priced in there range. So seems to be the best test.
The Japanese cars i have had have reached higher miles with no problems, parts need replacing a lot less and the engines seem quiet and retains power .And carry a greater resale value where iam.

As for only buying American, most Japanese cars are US made with US workers don't you support them. Most American cars have Japanese parts etc Most American companies have money in other car makers. And is everything in your house US made ie TV, Clothes,PlayStation. And all with US parts and designers.

Japanese cars are produced in the US by American Labor that is paid better than the Domestic workers. The North American content, Steel, Aluminum, Plastic are all American. The local (US) content of a Honda is 85% while the local (US) content of a Domestic is about 56%. What is an American Car? Japanese cars have higher Quality of Parts and construction and higher resale or residual value than Domestic cars. If you look at cars like the Saturn and open the hood, you might just find a Honda Engine which was produced in Lincoln, AL with US aluminum and steel and assembled by American labor. That the Domestic manufacturers are improving their Quality, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are MORE American.

Everyone's personal experience is different. You have had luck with Dodge/Chrysler products, but in MY personal experience they are the worst made American cars. You like Volvo's as a European car, yet I have found from my experience that they are overpriced, very safe, but spend tons of time in the shop. TONS! You don't like Korean cars, but I once owned a Kia that went forever with zero problems. I have owned lots of cars in my 54 years and I have to say that Honda is the best made car in the world. Toyota second. Nissan third. As for American cars? Chevrolet all the way. As for supporting American workers? All Japanese cars that we buy are made in America. Accords for example are made in Ohio. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

I prefer Japanese. Grew up in Japan so I am biased. Haha, but they generally are the most reliable and most fuel efficient. These are the two most important factors for me. But many foreign companies are building their cars in the US, supporting American jobs. My Subaru Legacy was built in Indiana, USA. I personally prefer Japanese cars to be made in Japan, though.
I would definately consider American cars though. They are way better in value. You get a lot of car for less money, especially when used. In fact, my Japanese friend who came to live in the US bought a Ford, not a Japanese car.
Once American companies make hybrid sedans, I think the tables will turn on Toyota and Honda.

Aside from money, etc. I prefer METAL CARS. LOL. They're all made by people. Who cares where they're from. What is money, anyway? I mean, we say we have to earn money because of taxes, expenses, etc. What are taxes? Where did money come from? Who distributed the money? THE GOVERNMENT. OMG. That's amazing! Why would they want something they gave back? Because they want us to work for what we want. Of course, the system isn't very fair either. More work doesn't mean more pay when you compare more than one individual. Also, that explains why the government don't want you to go to school because they want you to have a better education. NO!. Because they're brainwashing us. Everything's in order, every day is similar. Why? Like in factories, businesses, etc. Simple preparations for work. That's what they call life. So, think before you tell someone to "get a life" next time. (I'm not talking to you realy xD). But yeah. Otherwise, just fast, affordable, reasonably comfortable and convenient cars

Yeah I agree with you on that American is the only way to go. I only trust American cars, those foreign cars are supposed to be better on gas who really knows, and they go faster than any other car on the road which means more stupid kids driving them that can't handle them and killing everyone else on the road. Then when you own a foreign car like that some expensive *** part goes that will end up breaking you. Actually for American cars the ones that will take abuse is the old muscle cars I would rather drive some old car that sucks gas then some new foreign piece of ****.

I like German and Japanese.

Both German and Japanese companies have plants in the US so even when you purchase their cars your still supporting the good ol' USA.
