Well some young kids father would not give him the money, mine did, and I quit after 2 months (long ago) Twice before I had to stop, (left the USA to live in Australia, got married/divorced, moved back, new wife/ house) but I am, at 40+ trying again, with two jobs, wife (who thinks I am nuts) and all the other stuff. I would love to hear some motivational stories, like some that I have read, the winter and my lack of hours can get me down. Although Some day, I will own a Spitfire, I swear (even if it's only R/C , LOL)!

I got my private pilots license, learned the Garmin G1000 glass panel system and got my instrument rating all in 1 year when I was 59 years old, and I wear glasses to correct my vision. You can do it, if you make your mind up to do it. Flying has been one of the most rewarding and challenging things I have ever done. Good Luck and just do it.

Well my son just started. He has 4 hours in a Cessna 150 and 3 hours in a glider.
I know some pilots don't count the glider as real flying, but he is only 9 years old.

Keep going, you only need 20 hours and a solo for a recreational license.

No you are not the only one trying to, I've been trying to since childhood but a lack of support (moral/financial) has prevented that. Now its too expensive for me to afford.

I wonder why you quit trying earlier on...sounds like you weren't interested enough. Now you don't seem to have the time to...looks like you might have missed your chance (?). I'd be grateful if you could sponsor me.

You must be new in here. Every other question is "how do I become an airline pilot?" Five or ten per day. Frankly it's the reason why most of the regulars quit coming into this aircraft section.

You need better than average eye sight to be a pilot. At 40 plus years old, I doubt you have that. That's why they retire even the greatest of pilots at a young age. Money and time takes second and third place.
