I have a Sony xplod cdx f7710 stereo installed in my 98 dodge durango, also have a sony xplod 1200 watt amp and 2 12" subs hooked up also sony xplod. The problem is that the radio works fine with the radio stations but when i try to play a cd the only sound that comes out is through the subs and only the base line. Any ideas?

This is an extremely common problem, and it's a very simple fix. Your Durango is equipped with a factory-amplified Infinity sound system. When you installed the head unit, you connected the blue wire from the Sony deck to the vehicle's amp turn-on wire. The blue wire is a power antenna connection, so it shuts off when a source other than the radio is selected.

Disconnect whatever's attached to the blue wire, and re-connect it to the blue/white wire instead. (This means that both that wire and your sub amplifier's remote wire will be attached to the blue/white wire from the Sony deck). This will turn on the Durango factory amplifier no matter what source is selected.
