cable on a car heater!!!PLEASE HELP....?

in my car there is a heater control where u can change it from defrost to heat and behind that knob there is a cable i need to know what that cable is called so i can get it fixed..

Heater control selector cable...every brand has different terms for objects....just tell the shop what it does.
